This webinar explores how student agency grows through the support of a “village,” including parents, teachers, and the community. Experts discuss how these groups can work together to help children dream, design, and take action in their own learning journey. It highlights practical ways to build trust and empower everyone involved in a child’s education. This webinar celebrates five years of India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by focusing on student agency—the idea that students should be active partners in their own learning rather than just passive listeners. Through stories from teachers and young students, as well as expert discussions on policy and systems, the session explains that real change requires listening to children, building trust, and creating flexible, supportive environments. The speakers highlight that while government policy provides the framework, successful implementation happens when schools, parents, and local leaders work together to value student choice, character building, and practical life skills alongside traditional academics.
